Beach picture

Since I am moving to Chapman University in a few day I have been living it up as much as possible. I have been to 3 different beaches on 5 separate occasions. I went to my favorite beach Carlsbad, then to Newport, then to Huntington. Here are some of the photos I have taken on these adventures.

summer vacation photos

As always each summer my family travels to Northern Idaho to visit my grandparents. They live in a quick and slow town called Hayden Lake but some might be more familiar with coeur d'alene which is right next to it. There is not much to do besides go out to eat and visit the lake so when I had the chance I took my camera everywhere I went. These are some of the photos I took that I liked but if you would like to see more they are on my flickr account.

Wish I was here

Far-Flung Recessionary Special!

Blue Lagoon/101 Hotel
Reykjavík, Iceland

We know. Everyone hates Iceland and its unpronounceable volcano. But the island itself was basically unscathed, and with the ongoing currency crisis, it remains an awesome, otherworldy place to visit. Check in to the 101, Reykjavík's best boutique hotel, with an in-house gallery that attracts the best artists in Iceland. Once your bags are safely in your sleek Nordic room, head straight to the Blue Lagoon. The two of you will slip out of your clothes, brave the cold between the check-in lobby and the steamy water, and lather up in silica-rich mud while you soak under the northern lights. The hazy ephemeral lighting and the eerie billowing fog make your time together feel like a movie scene in which two people have just eloped to Mars. For maximum effect, go after dark (which is most of the time for most of the winter) and float in tandem to one of the secluded nooks and grottoes on the periphery of the pool. Look out at the horizon and forget you're still on Earth. —Andrew Richdale

Billy Reid

He is one of my favorite designers. Just great American clothes for men.

Gourmet

I love Gourmet shoes. They are simple yet very complicated in the material. There are no useless padding or seems just a simple and clean shoe. Oh and the food in this video doesn't look half bad either!

Nike Run Free

This is a great video to promote the new Nike Run Free shoes. I really want to cop a pair of these. Especially the blue and grey color way. They are so unbelievably flexible!!

Ed Templeton interview

Here is another interview that just came out of a favorite artists of mine Ed Templeton. This interview was taken during the instillation process at his exhibition in Belgium at SMAK. Looks like a pretty good show. I really like his clusters of photographs but, not so much his paintings. He is a really great photographer though and people should defiantly check out some of his photographs.

Barry Mcgee interview

Here is an interview with one of my most favorite artists Barry Mcgee about a recent instillation piece he is presenting. This instillation is not absolutely knew, as he has been making this type of collage of framed drawing and photographs for a few year but, the re-invention of the "pimple" swelling wall covered with the framed work is. This type of instillation of framing your works and mixing medium is probably one of my favorite artistic characteristics that Barry Mcgee has. It is always interesting when you take a massive scale piece such as this and you re-invent it in a more contemporary way.

Trip to Los Angeles

Today I went on one of many frequent trips to Los Angeles to see the Norton Simon art museum and spend some of my birthday cash. My first stop was to the Norton Simon which I found to be very unique compared to LACMA and The Ghetty. It was much smaller than the other museums but, in a good way. The museum was not overwhelming with random and stupid exhibitions of "Picasso's receipts" and "Warhol's tool" or whatever. It was simple and full of the necessary pieces to make it a good museum. Some of the best pieces I though they had was some Renbrant self portraits, Picasso's, and a very kool outdoor sculpture garden.

From there we went to The Grove, where we walked on 3rd street to find a nice place to eat. We chose to eat at Doughboys, which was really good. I started off with a Cafe au lait and ordered the Meaty Mac and Cheese

Next we went to one of my favorite stores in the whole world Flight Club on fairfax. This store is very underground and I have never met anyone else who has been to this store. Its unmarked and blacked out so you dont even know it exists but, once you go inside you will never forget where it is. It is wall to wall of some of the most rare and new sneakers from around the world. Sadly I did not buy any because I did not have enough money. Also on the return back from Flight Club I scored a piece of a David Choe wheat paste poster.

Next we went for a quick trip to The beverly center where I went to H&M and bought some jeans. Then we went to Melrose where we went to celebrate my birthday at 8oz. Burger Bar. This place was amazing! I ordered a custom burger with bacon, avocado, FRIED MOZZARELLA, and balsamic grilled onions. It was sooo good. I defiantly recommend everyone to go to this place sometime.

Also here is some extra picks from my adventure.

Nike tennis summer 2010 collection

I am very excited for the new Nike summer '10 collection. The last few collections were so plain and boring. They were horrible colors of brown and a strange flat blue that just made bored. This collection is much more different in that they used bright yellows and blues and a simple grid pattern in some of there shirts. Hopefully, soon I will but some of these peices to be ready in time for the ending of my tennis season and the highly competitive ITA summer curict and the many other tournaments I play in the summer. Here are a few of my top picks for this collection. By far the best is defiantly the Lunarlite vapor tours.

Pics from match at COD 4-1-10

We had a very tough match today but, we did very well. Every time MSJC plays COD we get closer and closer. Before COD knows it we will be the winner next time. I think the best moment of the match had to be when bruno called some guy a Bitch right to his face.

I know some of these pictures are immature but thats what we are immature lol. Its all fueled by Myself and Emmanuel in our conquest for making the most awkward photo I can take.

Supreme x Thom Browne

What a great collaboration between the famous fashion designer Thom Browne and the power house of street fashion Supreme. Im really trying hard to find a shirt like this without breaking the bank. This one is somewhere around $185...... A little to high for me but still a shirt im going to try to copy.
